Award Winning Landscape Design & Build

creating, enhancing and maintenaning  green spaces

Association of Landscape Contractors of Ireland (ALCI)

This award winning contemporary garden design in Blaris Lisburn Co. Antrim greatly increases the functional social space for this property. The client brief for this garden design and build was to maximize the use of space, giving a low maintenance yet aesthetically pleasing finish

We were originally contacted by the client because they wanted to completely overhaul a visually dull garden which they made very little use of.

We used silver-grey granite plank paving to construct a patio area with built in bench constructed from gabion wire cages with a softwood timber top. Silver -grey granite plank paving was also used to construct a stepping stone feature path, allowing access to the utility space behind the garage.

The client decided that the existing block paving would be retained, the curve along the front edge was adjusted into a more aesthetically pleasing shape.

There sizes of round pebbles where used for the gravel mulch on the planted beds to give definition and texture, we also incorporated some of the contrasting blue colored sharp rock used in the gabions.

The client specification for the planting required bold, strong architectural shapes with some colour and year round interest. We chose plants such as  Fatsia japonica, Stachys byzantina and grass such as the Mexican Feather Grass Stipa tenuissima.
